As Al Gore leaves his Brisbane hotel in a jet plane with a plastic bottle of water in hand, Karoline Gore (who isn’t related to Al Gore) enlightens us with these wonderful tips. Let’s hope we all follow Karoline’s tips rather than Al Gore’s example.

Top Tips on Being an Eco-friendly Traveller

Research carried out by global bank HSBC has revealed that, among the developed countries, Australia is one of the most vulnerable to the effects of climate change. There have already been signs of global cooling, resulting in lower sea levels and failing crops. In short, we need to find ways of living more sustainably. When it comes to travel, whether day-to-day or international, there are several ways of reducing your carbon footprint and helping to protect the planet.

Opt for eco-friendly transport

So often in day-to-day life, it can be tempting to take the most convenient or popular option. However, it is important to recognise the power we have as individuals to make decisions that can improve our own lives and those around us. Take transport, for example. Rather than driving to work or the shops, you can choose to be more eco-friendly by walking or cycling. Meanwhile, going by rail is the most eco-friendly form of public transport, with passenger rail contributing to less than 2.6% of Australia’s transport-related gas emissions. If driving really is the only option, lower the carbon emissions by giving others a lift. The fewer cars on the road, the lower the carbon footprint, which is of course good news when it comes to protecting the planet.

Go green with accommodation

Around the world, the hotel industry alone contributes to 1% of global gas emissions. This calls to mind the need for more hotels and lodges to prioritize sustainability. Well known brands such as the Hilton Group have started to focus on being more eco-friendly, installing water flow restrictors on shower heads and making toilets dual-flush, for example. Before booking anywhere, find out how much importance the accommodation places on sustainability.

Limit your use of plastic

If things continue as they are, plastic will outnumber fish in the oceans by 2050. It is easy to accumulate and throw away plastic when you are on the go; however, it is just as easy to minimize your use of it. Plan ahead by taking reusable flasks or bottles out and about with you. When it comes to carrying items or going out shopping, use sustainable, fabric bags. These are durable and light, with many designed to be rolled up small when not in use.

Responsible travel feels good

Not only is it important to play your part in promoting sustainable travel, but you will no doubt realize that it makes you feel good. Through some prior planning and responsible choices, you can still have fun travelling while protecting the environment. Better yet, you can lead by example and encourage others to do the same.

Disapointed that Better Homes and Gardens segment last night in a Muslim country glossed over all of the negatives even though they showed women in their black crow garb. Ever wondered why Arab men get to wear flowing white robes while their women and compelled to wear heat absorbing black in their extremely hot climate? That alone marks them as a misogynist based society.

New York Advanced Far-Reaching Climate Legislation. Here’s How It Could Impact Small Businesses New York advanced the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act on Wednesday night, but critics are wary of what it will cost small-business owners, homeowners and consumers. The New York state Assembly and Senate, with support from Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, passed climate change measures that aim to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions across the state by 2050. The bill plans to cut pollution in New York by 85% under 1990 levels and offset the remaining 15% over the next 30 years, The New York Times reported Tuesday.… Read more »

ABC headline today: “Brisbane will be too hot to live in by 2050.” Well what about the much hotter tropical cities teeming with people right now? Singapore average temp of 32°C population of 5.8 million, Kuala Lumpur (33°C) population 2 million, Colombo (30+) 2.5 million. India has many hot, hot cities teeming with people. https://www.holidify.com/pages/hottest-places-in-india-145.html BTW Brisbane’s maximum daytime temperatures range between 29.5 in the summer and 20.5 in the winter well below the scorcing summer time temperatures encounted in Australian cities of Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. Some people need to think broader than their tunnel vision research! In… Read more »

Brrrr.
Lake Michigan’s surface temperature is 7 degrees colder than normal for this time of year.

This isn’t a surprise to everyone who has shivered through this spring in Wisconsin but Lake Michigan’s surface temperature is around 7 degrees colder than normal for this time of year.

Lake Michigan water temperatures peak in late summer courtesy of warm air that blows in during July and August. But there has been seemingly little warm air this year to heat the huge tub of water that is Wisconsin’s eastern border.

Pope Calls for New Catholic Theological Curriculum – Teaching Students to View Muslims as Brothers

Pope calls on faithful to be as blind to real life dangers as he is.
This guy is a continued clown show. When he’s not pushing global warming and open borders, he’s pushing partnership and brotherhood with Islam.
God save your church!

A REAL WARRIOR AGAINST INJUSTICE

ISRAEL Folau has had everything taken from him for a single Tweet that offended the totalitarian left’s paragons of virtue. And now he is standing up to defend not just himself, but by default the freedom of every living and future Australian.

O/T: Was shopping at Woolworths in Hervey Bay yesterday. Heard a bit of a commotion and saw a very obese, unattractive Russian accented gentleman with disability pensioner written all over him herding three Asian women through the checkout. All looked well into their fifties, not a baby in sight, and had their trolleys stacked with baby formula. The checkout supervisor was telling them they were only entitled to two containers per customer which their minder was contesting. They finally went through with their two containers no doubt on their way to the next shopping centre to purchase more. There must… Read more »

Hottest Year Ever Update
Posted on June 21, 2019 by tonyheller
Tomorrow is the first full day of summer, and we are expecting heavy snow just west of Boulder.

The forecast maximum tomorrow is 60F in Boulder, which would break the previous cold record by four degrees.

Experts tell us snow is a thing of the past, skiing is doomed, and that we now live in an endless summer.

Australia is a chapter11 bankrupt.

The Australian Government is a privately owned American company registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
http://treasury.gov.au/foi/documents-relating-to-registration-with-the-sec
So if YOU vote for a privately owned American company – in essence, the board of directors of a privately owned American company, then HOW on earth can you be voting for the Australian Constitutions – “Commonwealth of Australia”?

Statute law or Admiralty Law, is the Law of the Sea. The various arms of government are known as “departments” such as the Judiciary, Justice and Treasury etc, all of these “departments” belong to corporations.

U.S. Bans Exports to Chinese Supercomputer Makers The Trump administration banned sales of U.S. technology to five major Chinese developers of next-generation computers, saying they posed risks to American national security or foreign policy interests. The blacklisted entities are central to China’s attempt to build a next-generation supercomputer capable of handling one quintillion calculations a second. The U.S. and China are competing for dominance in supercomputer manufacturing. The so-called “exascale” computers can be used for a variety of military and civil uses, including missile defense systems, encryption, weather prediction, and even cancer research. The newly sanctioned entities are the Wuxi… Read more »

QAnon Great Awakening 15 hrs · Three Corporations run the world: City of London, Washington DC and Vatican City Originally posted by Shenali D Waduge World events most of which are ‘engineered’ leave a trail that leads to the architects. We next discover that there are 3 cities on earth that come under no national authority, they have separate laws, they pay no taxes, they have their own police force and even possess their own flag of ‘independence’. These 3 cities control the economy, military onslaughts and the spiritual beings of those in powers. The 3 cities are actually corporations… Read more »

The Labor Party’s breast-beating and confected outrage about union boss John Setka’s alleged slight on anti-domestic violence campaigner Rosie Batty is hard to take seriously. According to reports, Setka is alleged to have said that Batty’s campaigning efforts had led to fewer rights for men. Setka denies saying this. However, he has never denied royal commission evidence that he threatened to bury a concreter’s head “alongside Ned Kelly’s”, nor that he has been mates with various Melbourne underworld figures, including Mick Gatto. Setka’s police record includes more than 60 charges and almost 40 offences over misdemeanours including theft, assault by… Read more »

A WEEK OF JEW-BAITING AND ISRAEL-BASHING IN LONDONISTAN (Melanie Phillips) Sometimes, a chilling reality is illuminated not so much by what someone says but by the laughter that it provokes. At the Cambridge Union debating society on Sunday, asked why he’d made a point of associating Jews with money, the Malaysian prime minister, Mahathir Mohamad, replied: “I have some Jewish friends, very good friends. They are not like the other Jews, that’s why they are my friends.” At which a great gust of laughter swept across his audience. They thought this swipe at Jewish people was funny. In London this… Read more »

The Irish Savant Thursday, 20 June 2019 Reasons to be cheerful Obviously there’s no shortage of black pills but today I bring to your attention several reasons to be cheerful. First up is the ongoing swarm of mini quakes in Southern California. Now don’t get your hopes up prematurely. Such swarms do not necessarily mean the imminent disappearance of Hollywood and Silicon Valley and the rest of Globohomo land into a watery Pacific grave. Nonetheless scientists claim that those quakes could set off a domino effect which would ‘awaken the southern San Andreas from its long slumber’. That fault is… Read more »

Senator Jim Molan, Senator for NSW Liberal Party of Australia was too honest and smart for the Liberals or Nationals. Retired Major General Jim Molan was a liberal senator in the last parliament. He was doing a great job and was one of the best and brightest Liberal performers in years. He served under Malcolm Turnbull as PM. He was far too honest for the Liberals and Nationals especially when he exposed Australia had only 19 days or less fuel supply at any given time, useless in times of emergency. This got right up the collective Liberal hierarchical noses who… Read more »
