A meeting was held this morning at the offices of Kilcoy Pastoral Company. The meeting lasted approximately 1 hour. Mitchell was represented by the holder of a Diploma in WHS. The story has now landed on Peter Dutton's desk and we believe the relevant Federal authorities are now investigating the Kilcoy situation.

Mitchell has been stood down on full pay until an internal investigation has been completed at the abattoir.

The 457 scheme has been in place at Kilcoy Pastoral Company (KPC) for over a decade. It began when the company was Australian owned. The current Chinese majority owner has nothing to do with the day to day operations. They simply fund the business. A large percentage of the Filipino workers that arrive there are not skilled workers they receive on the job training. The majority are also not Muslims. Put aside the issues over Halal products and focus on the real concern here which is jobs for Australians.

Most of the meat we get in Syndey, no matter the price, is tough, tasteless crap!
Could be halal that is the problem?

What happened with the protection of the whistleblower legislation? I don’t blame him for getting jack of having to train 457 visa holders who are brought into Australia because they supposedly have these skills but it seems they don’t. Did Kilcoy only sponsor them because they were Muslim and only Muslims can do the halal slaughtering but they need an Aussie to train them up to cut? Both the company and the visa holders have broken this work sponsored visa law. Again, where is Bill Shorten’s outrage on this set up by Kilcoy? Good luck, Mitch, you probably will need… Read more »

Most of these leading communist idealists have more money than the King of Siam, and live like tsars.

Wife went away on a work trip, thought I’d get a nice eye fillet steak for dinner, at discount $30.32 at 67.99 a kg and that was discounted. Went home had a toasty instead. Next day went to our local tavern and $32.00 got me an eye fillet with chips, sauce and salad with a beer and no washing up. With energy bills ect going up its cheaper to eat out. I’ve know of friends who buy a beast as a group and there is a mobile butcher who slaughters and dresses it, steaks sausages roasts offal anything you want… Read more »

Can’t wait to see Pauline Hanson Jump on this one. Zed Man, you are right to yell out about the union movement. The CFMEU are threatening to go on strike to shut down our power in Victoria, but not a peep about this from the Meat Workers. Ideology over the individual.

She looks like she’s spitting some sort of Koranic poison on that meat.

Dutton will try to go in boots and all and then the Fifth Column (AKA Turdball) will step in and countermand his actions.

Good to see the comments regarding the overpriced meat, here in Australia. Mate of mine, in a Rural town in Qld, had a butchers shop. Did his own killing, etc, Beef, Lamb, but bought his pork. Beaut sausages, coarse mince, smoked, did small goods. The old fashioned butcher. Then his Bank manager made him an offer. So sold it. In 6 months the bank Manager went broke. He could see the money going through the till, with me mate in charge, but it just didn’t seem to happen for him. The Manager ended up going bust. He just didn’t realise… Read more »

Where is bloody Shorten now? No surprise. Hiding from reality. The same can be said of Pauline Hanson especially when this is happening in her home state. I think Paul Zannetti’s letter to her hits the nail squarely on the head. Don’t expect any action from Turnbull or Joyce or Bishop. This triumvirate is worse than anything Whitlam dreamed up.

Remove the Halal bullshit from the abattoirs and bingo…we have cheaper meat. How easy is that? Maybe Pauline will get off her arse and front Turdball about some legislation.

Wishful thinking on the part of Robert Leigh Hawke – failure. Just trying to talk us into it!

Those naughty unions are no longer able to demand to see the pays. Nobody looks , Fair Work is the govamit smokescreen. Same with most , ( especially rural), industry. Super unpaid, wages shonky, dodgy overseas hiring and companies which vanish overnight, leaving everyone, including local tradies , out of pocket. Then they pop up again unscathed. Unless 4 corners , or someone looks nothing changes , because Unions, (the only ones really interested) must give notice of a visit, say no more .

Now something you all may not be aware of. Citing high stock prices, there was a rash of abattoir closures recently. Did they know there was something going to happen ?

Kick the chinks out and stop selling beef to the Indonesians. Bring down the price of meat for Australians. Too many of them live on low grade sausages and spam.
